Why Chess

Chess is one of the best games both as a sport and enjoyment, but also as a means of improving academic and social skills for school children. Research studies have demonstrated the positive impact of chess on academic performance and emotional intelligence.  There have been a number of studies that show children who play chess have had improvement in their reading and math scores on standardized tests.  Exercising a child's skills for spatial geometry, visual memory, problem solving, logical and critical thinking, calculation, and sportsmanship in just one game often produces astounding results!
